Henna also called Mehndi, Hina, or Bapar is the ancient art of painting the body with paste made from the powdered leaves of the henna plant. It was originally used for only women's palms and sometimes for men, but as time progressed, it was more natural for women to wear it.

Traditional Indian designs are representations of the sun on the palm, which, in this context, is intended to represent the hands and feet, currently not just apply on the hand and feet, but almost in all women body. Practiced mainly in India and the Arab world, henna is the application of as a temporary form of skin decoration.
